About KidsLIFE
Why We Do What We Do
KidsLIFE began because it was noticed in daily life that Filipino children tend to be absorbed in gadgets, often adopting foreign accents and unaware of the natural environment. No matter if the children are rich or poor, many imitate celebrities, and focus on appearances which can lead to the loss of the innocence of childhood. We base our play-care on studies that show that kids today miss out on the benefits of a playful, carefree childhood, with parents and friends equally distracted by technology which is why Balay Amuma offers the opportunity for children to learn through play again.
Our creative, play-based program rooted in Steiner Waldorf education aims to restore joy, self-reliance, purpose, and imagination. We utilize natural toys, outdoor play, gardening, art, and music to foster holistic development with the guidance of loving teachers and caregivers. It is our belief that these will help counter the harmful effects of excessive gadget use.
This is why we are passionate about what we offer at KidsLIFE Balay Amuma
History of KidsLIFE
Founded in 2001, KidsLIFE Foundation's mission began by assisting underprivileged children in daycare centers and street children through collaborative efforts with the Rotary Club and the Cebu City government.
As the years progressed, our endeavors expanded, encompassing initiatives such as promoting our educational philosophy to educators, operating a Waldorf kindergarten, conducting outreach programs, and providing training for daycare teachers in partnership with various NGOs.
Additionally, dedication to empowering disadvantaged children in Cebu led to the initiation of gardening projects, and fostering a nurturing and enriching environment.
